4:00 PM - 5:00 PM (Eastern Time) Show in My Timezone
Presented by Jeff Mummert, teacher at Hershey High School in PA, adjunct professor at York College of Pennsylvania, Director of Submrge.org, and Founder/Owner of HistoriQuest.com
In our community’s next webinar, we will explore the value of non-content specific and "off the shelf" games in the classroom. Jeff Mummert, will discuss how game-based learning fits into teaching and learning frameworks like Bloom's Taxonomy, the LoTi HEAT Framework, and 21st century skills. He also will show how game-based learning can cultivate higher-order thinking skills, articulate student choice and voice, and provide multiple paths to learning. Jeff will share ideas and tips to create innovative, authentic activities related to non-content specific and "off the shelf games" as well. He will include an introductory "how to" overview of Submrge.org, a site for deeper thinking about games and education. Join Jeff on December 2 to learn about innovation, authenticity, and games.
Co-hosted by edWeb.net and the Education Division of Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA)
